Black Mother’s 4 Justice, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides assistance to parents, grandparents and guardians with children entangled in the Criminal Justice System to give them a better understanding of the legal process so they can be better informed when making legal decisions for their loved ones. Today’s courtrooms are modern day “auction blocks” where Black boys and men are silently being bought and sold all across the nation.
If you are impacted by the Criminal Justice System in any way and have questions about the legal process this platform is for you:
If you answered yes to any of these questions, feel free to email your questions to melindarobertson35@gmail.com with BM4J Question in subject line.
What does it really mean when a convicted felon’s conviction has been overturned? Does it mean their immediate release from prison? Will the conviction automatically be expunged from their records? What’s the process one must take to have their conviction overturned? We all have heard the statement that a person is innocent until proven guilty, unfortunately, that rule doesn’t apply to the black community. The Criminal Justice System in America is a black man’s worst nightmare, and many mothers’ greatest fear!! How long does a person have to appeal their conviction? What convictions, if any, are not expungeable? Do you have a loved one recently convicted or going to trial in the near future who might be able to have their conviction overturned but don’t know what to do? Join me on this journey as I break down the aftermath of an overturned conviction because Knowledge is Power!!! #NjustUs
These are the Stories of Survival written by five Queen Mothers who were entangled in the Criminal Justice System through wrongful incarceration; extortion; the death of two children at once; manipulated into giving police permission to search her son's room without a warrant. Real Stories from Real Women!!!
